Using Module 0: The Introductory Session
Overview
Your initial Faith for Rights session should begin with Module 0. The intent of Module 0 is to prepare participants for a shift from the generalities of interreligious dialogues to concrete actions. This shift occurs through a participatory approach, multi-disciplinary knowledge and communication skills. Module 0, the Introductory Session, will help participants understand how to participate in a Faith for Rights session, answering the question “What is peer-to-peer learning?” It will help them understand that all members of the group are equal, and that diversity of thought and voice is welcome. Module 0 provides opportunity to adapt content to local contexts and objectives as participants work together to set ground rules and expectations for their Faith for Rights Session. Module 0 consists of three activities
- The Introductory Round – An opportunity for participants to introduce themselves and briefly express their respective experiences and expectations.
- An Activity of Choice – This activity is at the discretion of the facilitator and could consist of any one of the listed peer-to-peer activities: Brainstorming, Positioning, or Exploring.
- Defining Ground Rules – The group determines the rules they wish to adopt and abide by throughout the Faith for Rights session.
